Here at BCS, Analysts, Associate Consultants and Consultants make up our General Consulting community, internally referred to as GenCo. Depending on what level you join it affects how long you remain within this exciting team but, to give you an idea, the timeline for a GenCo member is typically around 18 months.
GenCo makes up a large proportion of our consulting workforce and plays an essential role in the delivery of client engagements and revenue generation. On top of that, the team also get involved in contributing towards developing thought leadership, internal knowledge collateral, sales materials, client propositions, plus tools and methods to aid client delivery.
The focus of our growth strategy is to continuously invest in, and build out, our GenCo population. Rest assured, as we grow, our foundations and principles will remain the same and our values accurately reflect what we all believe in – doing the right things, in the right way, for the right reasons.
As a team, we are passionate about our work, authentic in our dealings, committed to delivering quality work and doing it all collaboratively. In fact, it’s these values which form the baseline criteria for hiring Analysts, Associate Consultant and Consultants to join the GenCo community.
GenCo LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
We’re dedicated to supporting all our consultants to realise their career goals and, for our GenCo community, that means providing several dedicated training opportunities for Analysts, Associate Consultants and Consultants to throw themselves into.
Firstly, there’s our 20-month Service Line Rotation Programme (SLRP) that focuses on developing expertise across our capabilities. Our SLRP is an interactive and pragmatic series of learning sessions run across Programme & Change Delivery, Performance Improvement, Technology & Digital as well as Risk & Finance. The programme aims to ensure that everyone in our GenCo community is equipped with the knowledge they need to confidently decide which of our Service Lines they wish to join once they complete the programme.
GenCo members also attend our New Joiner Induction Programme (NJIP) which concentrates on building awareness of what it means to be part of our business. These engaging sessions take place across a new joiner’s first year of employment with us and build an appreciation for everything from how we run our business through to our values and principles.
Finally, when you join GenCo there’s also the opportunity to gain relevant industry recognised accreditations such as the Chartered Banker or The Investment Operations Certificate.
