What does a typical working day on client site look like for you?
I’m currently working on a Financial Crime Risk programme in a Tier 1 global bank as a Project Manager. My day to day activities vary but largely involve co-ordinating deliverables across work streams, responding to multiple reporting requests and facilitating meetings and workshops. I am also leading some of the work streams which has allowed me to develop subject matter knowledge and work closely with an array of clients across the bank. The work is high profile and I am regularly asked to prepare papers for Executive and Board level Committees.
During a regular working day, I meet with key stakeholders and clients in order to keep aligned to their conflicting priorities. This comes with challenges but it makes each day motivating and I am lucky to have my BCS colleagues around me for support when required.
How has your career developed at BCS?
I joined BCS in January 2017 as an Associate Consultant and have since been promoted to Consultant. Having had very little experience in financial services and limited consulting experience, my learning curve was very steep. I quickly learned that BCS empowers each and every single consultant to drive their own careers through an individually tailored line management and engagement management structure, supported by an extensive Learning and Development framework full of qualification and training opportunities.
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?
BCS values diversity and for a relatively small consultancy, I continue to be amazed at the variety of skills, experience and knowledge across the organisation. It is a company full of like-minded, driven and intelligent people and this sets a high standard across the Company.
Hard work is rewarded with a colourful social calendar with clubs, sporting events and extra-curricular activities; there is never a dull week at BCS and you’ll be sure to find something that suits you.
