What does a typical working day on client site look like for you?
Currently I am working in Canary Wharf on a large Regulatory Change programme. My role has varied throughout the lifecycle of the programme, supporting the design and build of a key regulatory artefact, before designing the operating model for a new team within the Group HR function and finally helping run the new operating model and handing over my role to a BAU team.
I typically begin the day at around 8am, prioritising key activities and planning work between the client conference calls that I have lined up. As the team I work in manage and coordinate the change of specific regulatory approved persons within the bank, activities are often high priority and sensitive in nature, meaning I have to work effectively with small teams to complete regulatory applications for approval, often to challenging timelines.
Day-to-day I like to grab lunch and get some fresh air (even in the winter!) with BCS colleagues and regularly attend sporting clubs such as football, tag rugby and the BCS Triathlon club.
How has your career developed at BCS?
I joined BCS as an Associate Consultant at the end of June 2015, was promoted to a Consultant in November 2015, then Senior Consultant and I’m now a Principal Consultant. During this time, I’ve been given increased ownership and responsibility for delivering client work and establishing client relationships which has been a fantastic challenge. I also won an award for New Joiner of the Year and later, Consultant of the Year at our annual BCS Awards dinner. Both were a huge shock for me, but great recognition for the challenging work I had been managing on client site.
I’ve also been able to take advantage of the strong learning and development culture at BCS. As well as working through the CISI Investment Operations qualification, I also attend internal masterclasses on interesting topics that are prevalent in the industry and, in some cases, keeping our clients awake at night!
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?

It is a fantastic place to work and for anyone wanting to feel valued and make a real difference in their work, there is no better place than BCS Consulting to do that.
