What does a typical working day on client site look like for you?
As a consultant, it’s hard to pin down a typical day because the nature of the job is so varied! However, the one thing I can guarantee is that my days will almost always be ‘good’ busy.
Between client meetings, project work, line and engagement management and personal, practice and business development, I’ve always got something valuable to be doing which is an aspect of the job I really value. Combine that with the huge range of evening BCS social events on offer and time management becomes a critical skill to master!
How has your career developed at BCS?
I joined BCS in 2013 as an Associate Consultant, straight from a Big Four graduate scheme. Right from the start, I was given a lot of client exposure, sizable project responsibility and access to all the training BCS offers its consultants, all of which really helped to accelerate my personal development.
I’m now a Managing Consultant and lead our Finance Service Line, with responsibility for all proposition, business and people development for this part of our business, as well as its overall commercial success.
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?
BCS is a genuinely unique place to work within the management consulting industry.
One; we are a fully employee-owned consultancy, with individual employee wellbeing and success inextricably linked to the overall performance of the Company.
Two; we’ve grown significantly since I joined, but have managed to keep all the good parts of being ‘small’ whilst becoming ‘big’.
Three; we employ smart, fun, nice, high-performing people. It’s an amazing place to work.
