Implementing the Senior Managers Regime
We took control of the programme management of an end-to-end solution preparing a large global bank for the go-live of the Senior Managers and Certification Regimes.
The brief
Our client’s goal was simple; ensure a comprehensive end-to-end solution and operating model was in place by go-live in order to comply with the introduction of the new Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime.
The challenge to our team was to manage the programme, design regulatory artefacts required by the regime and design and implement an enhanced target operating model to ensure compliance with the rules.
The solution
Our team initially prioritised the design and build of the Management Responsibilities Map, a key regulatory artefact required by the regime outlining the bank’s governance and management arrangements. Once created, we then carried out an impact assessment of the as-is state of key HR and Compliance processes before designing, building and embedding these changes into BAU operations.
In parallel, our team also got to work designing a target operating model, including new governance, processes, roles and tools which were managed by a new function created to ensure ongoing compliance with the regime. Our team created this new function from scratch and ran its operations until our client was able to identify appropriate people internally to take responsibility.
The results
The Management Responsibilities Map we created was considered to be ‘industry leading’ when it was presented to UK regulators.
Impressed by our standard of work, our client is delighted with the robust set of processes and procedures they now have in place to ensure ongoing compliance with the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime, which we effectively and successfully embedded into their day-to-day operations and BAU resources.
