Derivatives Clearing Strategy
We were engaged by a global investment bank to help develop a strategy, support model and technology for their new Derivatives Client Clearing service.
The brief
Our client had identified derivatives clearing as a potential new revenue generating opportunity for the bank as well as a franchise protection requirement. Our team were asked to create and build a strategy for the smooth implementation, operation and development of business architecture capable of supporting this new cross product service.
The solution
Faced with imminent market deadlines, our team decided to adopt an effective, prioritised approach to developing the new clearing service. As well as engaging with key stakeholders to identify the customers and volumes targeted, we led the development of a target business model, aligned specifically to the new platform, and mapped the process model to the application architecture to ensure clear lines of ownership.
Throughout this project we were regularly asked for our advice, insight and input into other areas related to the new clearing services solution including reviewing the client’s Listed Derivatives technology, Cross Product Brokerage and Client On-boarding groups.
The results
We brought clarity of thinking to the project that not only enabled our client to focus on the most critical and pressing elements but also proved vital to the design of a comprehensive clearing service.
