Engaged to deliver strategic reference data adoption to enable BCBS 239 compliance
As part of the implementation of a BCBS 239 compliant solution at a global bank, the client required the definition and tracking of a comprehensive series of KPIs to ensure sufficient attention and funding was applied to achieve regulatory compliance. In addition, the KPIs constituted 17% of the respective management board member’s scorecard, ensuring senior level oversight and attention. The client required data to be sourced from multiple disparate data sources and presented on user friendly, interactive dashboards to support analytical reviews, controls and monthly reporting. The solution enabled accurate and timely MI to enable effective decision making, as well as reducing complexity and operational risk through increased automation.
- Interactive dashboards – Designed and implemented a suite of fully interactive dashboards using Agile delivery. The dashboards were used as the primary method of tracking reference data adoption and for the critical analysis of programme management artefacts. Outputs were provided to the regulators, Management Board and used as part of key governance forums.
- Methodology definition – Supported the client’s definition of the methodology for Management Board member KPIs, measuring reference data adoption by the most relevant means for each respective area.
- Tracking of KPIs – Implemented processes to collate the monthly measurement of KPIs, collating data from 14 disparate data sources.
- Automated reporting – replaced manual reporting with an automated data visualisation tool dashboard, replacing a time intensive, manual solution, prone to operational error.
The Management Board KPIs ensured that sufficient resource, funding and attention was spent on improving reference data adoption and achieving BCBS 239 compliance.
Using a data visualisation tool allowed senior management to view various sets of data in a single, interactive view across all entities within scope and promoted data driven decision making. The solution provided the client with an efficient, best in class solution that improved understanding of the data, saved significant resource and reduced operational risk through automated reporting. The client was left with a highly visual front end where they were able quickly and intuitively gain insight from their data.
